Vivian & Byron | Ballroom Wedding at River Oaks Country Club

Vivian & Byron quite simply radiate. They exude warmth, joy and love not only for one another but with everyone who they interact with. They share a true partnership. We were fortunate enough to document the evening before their wedding and witness first hand how special these two are and the impact they have had on those they love. The following day, Vivian & Byron in front of their closest family and friends exchanged vows in a traditional ceremony at South Main Baptist Church in Houston followed by a stunning reception that ended with a breathtaking grand exit at River Oaks Country Club.

Barton Creek Resort Wedding /// That's a cake!?!?! /// Kathryn + Hunter, the full film

Austin is a city unlike many others in Texas.  Nestled within a deeply-wooded hill country, it bustles with life, live music, technology, art,  and incredible food.  It's only fitting that in this live-music capital of the world that Kathryn and Hunter would choose a rehearsal dinner setting that honors all the things they love about the city they love. As the setting sun danced and glimmered over Town Lake on the Colorado River,  their families gathered to eat great Texas meats, tell hilarious stories, and two-step to live music performed by the Drew Fish Band.  It was the perfect way to start the weekend for a couple that loves Texas.

The bride gave her groom a gift of Texas A&M tailored cufflinks to wear on their wedding day. The couple included many Texas details in their wedding---Hunter wore a Texas flag bow tie, and gave a gift of the Texas flag to each of his groomsmen along with a certificate from the state Senate of Texas thanking each one for their service as a witness in his wedding. In addition to the advice given through toasts throughout the night, the couple invited their guests to share advice on custom letterpress cards to keep in a keepsake box as an heirloom for years to come. The Drew Fish Band performed live and kept the party going through the night.  The lead singer in the band just happens to be the younger brother of the bride's maid of honor, so the families had a personal connection to the band! The gorgeous Kyle Field cake at the wedding the next day---Aggie fans were very proud!

Kathryn and her father performed an amazing surprise dance during the father-daughter dance at the reception. It was so fun to see her dad cut loose and the two of them put on an awesome show for their guests--people were screaming with excitement to see them as they performed their jazzy choreography.

Just outside the Barton Creek Resort Ballroom, the Photo Booth team kept everyone having a good time, and the pictures were placed in a scrapbook as a unique guest book idea.  Tiff's Treats (an Austinite foodie's favorite dessert maker!) were served to guests as a favor as they left.  It was a stunning party!

Escondido Horseshoe Bay || #JustHooked || Kailey + Travis, the full film

Driving out to Horseshoe Bay, the developments around the city of Austin begin to fade away to untouched hill country densely covered in trees and low shrubs. There, amidst the deer and the armadillos, the sleepy retreat of Horseshoe Bay emerges as the road rises to meet the lake.   It was in this beautiful hidden garden area of Texas that Kailey and Travis chose to spend their wedding weekend with family and friends.   Pulling away from distractions, focusing on the ones they loved dearly, they gathered at Escondido, which is spanish for "hidden," where they could share their hearts and their love in a joyous celebration.  Enjoy their full film:

Kailey wore her sister's wedding veil for the ceremony. The classic getaway car belongs to Kailey's grandfather and was outfitted with a special backplate for the occasion that read "Just Hooked!"

We owe a big thank you to many people -- to Kailey and Travis for allowing us to create this heirloom film for them, to Kailey's father for allowing us to film him while he worked on something as important as his wedding speech, to Kailey's mother for telling us where he had hidden himself to write the speech, to Cristen Meehan and the entire design team and vendors who worked with Kennedy Weddings for creating such a gorgeous setting.  Lastly, we want to thank Kailey and Travis' family and friends for opening your hearts and letting your joy overflow--these are the moments and images that will stand as testimony to the beauty of Kailey and Travis' love --not just through our film, but through your love and support toward them as they journey through the rest of their days together.  We wish you all much joy and many great games of golf.

Barton Creek Resort Wedding /// That's a cake!?!?! /// Kathryn + Hunter, the preview

It's not very often that we start telling you about a couple by describing their cake, but when it comes to Kathryn and Hunter, who are both Aggies, huge fans of cake, and totally committed to wowing each other with surprises, well, then, the cake is almost as perfect a symbol of their relationship as the wedding rings! We've seen Aggie cakes before.  We've seen Field Cakes before.  ....but we've never seen a cake like this one.  It was so amazingly large and ornate that when Hunter, the groom, first saw it after the wedding ceremony, he exclaimed incredulously, "that's a cake!?!?!" This groom's cake was a perfect model of the new Kyle Field that is currently under construction, and it was so large that it filled up almost a whole wing of the Barton Creek Resort Ballroom, and the rest of the room was filled with wonder, awe, and of course, lots of laughter.  All of the Texas A&M fans in attendance beamed with pride when they saw it!

Barton Creek Resort, where the wedding was held, sits perfectly nestled on the edge of the capital city of Austin and the rolling hill country that lies to the west of this Texas metropolis. The suites have a lovely view of one of the greenest areas in Texas, and that's where Kathryn got ready with her bridesmaids and family on the wedding day.

The Proposal:

"On a Tuesday in December I decided I wanted to get my very own Christmas tree to have in my apartment where I lived alone. I expressed my interest to Hunter and he was a bit overly excited about this idea.  So, later that night we got a Christmas tree and I decorated it with gold and silver stars.  After placing what I thought was the final ornament, Hunter handed me a little stocking and said there was one more for me to hang. I glanced down at the stocking to see a brown box. Hunter took the box out of the stocking got down on one knee and asked me to marry him!" --Kathryn

Austin Country Club //// High School Sweethearts + Lifetime Loves //// Christine + Blake, the full film

On a sunny day in early summer, the clouds wandered through the sky as bridesmaids in gold and groomsmen in white tie tuxes gathered around Christine and Blake, high school sweethearts saying their vows after 8 years of dating.  Throughout high school and later as they were attending Texas A&M, their love blossomed.  As the crowd gathered in the sanctuary to witness their promises of love, their officiant, who also is married to his own high school sweetheart, had this to say:

"The up to marrying your high school sweetheart--you know one another so well. you will have known one another's mistakes, but you will also know one  another's first joys and first celebrations.  You have shared your growing up together.....Having a witness of those years in your life, not only of the years past but also years to come, is such a gift--you have someone to share the narration of all your joys...a narrator--and what you'll narrate by word and by action together in this life, we pray is nothing less than love.  On this day, this life, and every year to come."

Chevron sequins in pink and gold, hydrangeas, and mercury glass decked out the tables in the reception designed by Samantha Rosenberg.  The reception was also filled with fun--a stunning & tall tiered floral cake by the Cake Plate for the bride, a Photo Booth provided by Say Cheese, outdoor visiting areas lit with crystal chandeliers in the garden,  and an enormous groom's cake in the shape of a class ring.  It was decorated to be an exact replica of the groom's Texas A&M senior ring, and it really was breathtaking in person--both because of it's sheer size and because of the quality craftsmanship in the decor!

One of the sweetest moments came when one of Christine's grandmothers went out on the dance floor in her wheelchair and several women in her family and friends gathered round to dance together for a song.  The love on all their faces was so very apparent, and they were all filled with joy.

Thank you for choosing us to film and edit a wedding video of your special day--Blake made us laugh with all of his jokes, and Christine's smile was full of pure joy.  We loved seeing how excited both sets of your parents were, and we were inspired by the love that Mr. Timmerman radiated as he spoke of his approval and love for Blake as a son-in-law.  We join all of your friends in wishing you many happy years together, and most of all, a lifetime full of love.
