Kelsey & Cameron | Summer Wedding at Austin Country Club
/Kelsey & Cameron are absolute gems and their connection to one another is undeniable. At first meeting them it was apparent that they share such a beautiful thoughtfulness for one another. Their love not only radiates between them, but in their family and friends. On a gorgeous day in July they were wed at St. Mary's Cathedral in downtown Austin for a traditional ceremony service followed by a gorgeous reception that lasted well into the night at Austin Country Club.
We so enjoyed being a part of their big day and wish them all the happiness in the world.

The sunset filled ceremony was punctuated with a visit by some local peacocks who only squawked at some pretty perfectly timed moments—as if they were cheering in agreement with Jess and Taylor being announced husband and wife! Afterwards, guests gathered at the big red barn to eat dinner. They were surprised to find they had to compete against other tables of guests and sing for their supper—in order to be released to the buffet, they had to serenade the bride and groom with a song about love. Their fun songs and animated performances only served to prove that Jess and Taylor are surrounded by a whole cloud of joyous friends who reflect their own humor and love for life.
When we arrived at Covenant Presbyterian Church, the sunlight filtered through the trees and reflected through the lanterns and greenery lining the walkway to the church. Sarah and her bridesmaids got ready at a quaint mid-century inspired home just down the street where her dress hung in the window of a beautiful blue room and vintage tunes echoed from the record player. When Sarah's mother came in to show the bridesmaids her dress, the resident bulldog barked in approval, causing everyone to laugh in surprise. Nearby at the church, the groomsmen entertained Mark with a game of Pictionary as they all had their boutonnieres pinned on by Beth Walker's expert team of coordinators.
During the ceremony, the officiant spoke of marriage and its core consisting of two things: covenant and love. Covenant is more than a promise, more than a contract; it is a commitment. It is to be cherished and protected and thought of as more than a temporary situation. It is a vow to pursue one another each and everyday (despite how each might feel that day.) He said, “What we want for you all is to have a marriage that is deep and intimate and full of joy, and we believe that as you live the marriage that God has called you to, you'll have a marriage that is abundant."
Beth Walker and her team at 36th Street Events created the beautiful backdrop for this wedding: coordinating all of its details. Merveille designed the florals for this stunning modern, romantic celebration. Railings were loosely draped with wild smilax with floral in ivory, cream, and touches of gray nestled amongst the greenery. At each entrance, clear glass cylinders in varying heights and wax luminaries lined the steps with a variety of floral including hydrangeas, white stock, white roses, and dusty miller. Succulent rosettes, white scabiosa, ranunculus, peonies, green and white kale, eucalyptus, tillandsia and brunia berry contributed to the visual feast once inside. (Also, we dare you not to drool over this beautiful salad that was set on the farm-style rustic wooden banquet tables by Crave, the catering company).
The cakes were made of the most divine flavors--the bride's cake was almond with strawberry, and the groom's "drum set" cake was cookie dough flavored with chocolate filling.
In honor of the groom, a cigar bar was provided for guests on the upper floor of Brazos Hall. Guests enjoyed beers and a signature cocktail in monogrammed cup sleeves as they visited in the city night air on the balcony terrace. "The Ginger Lee" was a cocktail drink created in honor of the couple's dog. It was three equal parts of Bulleit Bourbon, Domain De Canton (a ginger liqueur), and fresh lemon juice, all served over ice. From the upstairs open-air lounge, guests could socialize and enjoy the stunning view as pedicabs and horse-drawn carriages meandered on the streets below.
Edison bulbs hung over the dance floor as the crowd danced the night away. The evening ended with a bang--Sauce the band invited the bride and groom onstage to sing the last song, and guests were treated to midnight Milky Ways and candy treats as they walked out the doors. In true Austin fashion, Sarah and Mark exited their downtown reception through a tunnel of sparklers leading to a pedicab getaway.
