downtown austin brazos hall wedding 02Sarah + Mark's wedding was a FUN, over-the-top experience set in the heart of downtown Austin with guests that had traveled from the east and west coasts to celebrate these two lovebirds! From a hilarious game of Pictionary played by the groomsmen during preps to the Aggie-Longhorn sing-off at the end of the night, this wedding was filled with smiles and laughter from beginning to end. Sarah and her bridesmaids got ready at a quaint mid-century inspired home just down the street where her dress hung in the window of a beautiful blue room and vintage tunes echoed from the record player. When Sarah's mother came in to show the bridesmaids her dress, the resident bulldog barked in approval, causing everyone to laugh in surprise. Nearby at the church, the groomsmen entertained Mark with a game of Pictionary as they all had their boutonnieres pinned on by Beth Walker's expert team of coordinators. brazos hall austin wedding 36th street events 21 brazos hall austin wedding 36th street events 22 brazos hall austin wedding 36th street events 23brazos hall austin wedding 36th street events 25 During the ceremony, the officiant spoke of marriage and its core consisting of two things: covenant and love. Covenant is more than a promise, more than a contract; it is a commitment. It is to be cherished and protected and thought of as more than a temporary situation. It is a vow to pursue one another each and everyday (despite how each might feel that day.) He said, “What we want for you all is to have a marriage that is deep and intimate and full of joy, and we believe that as you live the marriage that God has called you to, you'll have a marriage that is abundant." brazos hall austin wedding 36th street events 27 brazos hall austin wedding 36th street events 29 brazos hall austin wedding 36th street events 30 brazos hall austin wedding 36th street events 31 brazos hall austin wedding 36th street events 32 brazos hall austin wedding 36th street events 33 brazos hall austin wedding 36th street events 34 brazos hall austin wedding 36th street events 35 brazos hall austin wedding 36th street events 36

Sarah + Mark,

As you continue forward in your life together, we hope that each day you are reminded of the covenant you made and the love that was shared in this moment, and that the memory of this joy is a guide that inspires your future adventures together. May you always have as much fun as you did during that spectacular drum solo!

Megan: girly and social. Matt: bearded and outdoorsy. Both unique and both a whole lot of fun to be around! Their uniqueness was personified in Matt's duck-themed Groom's cake decorated with several Texas emblems, sugar-sculpted "shotgun shells," and a proud sign proclaiming that "The Hunt Is Over."

The afternoon of Megan and Matt's wedding, sweet sounds of Hill Country Strings filled the air as guests walked toward the ceremony. The ceremony was held in the Pavilion at Barton Creek with the altar draped with a stunning rose-filled archway. Megan told us, "Our theme would be described as southern elegance and charm with a touch of rustic. Our goal is to give our guests a true Texas wedding experience.”

Their wedding reception in Omni Barton Creek Resort's ballroom was the scene of some seriously amazing dancing that lasted throughout the night! Later, guests cheered as they tossed lavender and rose petals as Megan and Matt left their reception, driving away on a golf cart into the starry night.

The Proposal:  How it all happened...

Matt shared this story with us: "December 2014: Megan is ready to get Wifed-up, as girlfriends are wont to do. Anytime I asked her what she wanted for Christmas, all Megan said she wanted was an engagement ring. ...Skip to about a week before Christmas, Megan is not happy that she will not be getting what she wants. During some last minute gift shopping, Megan picked out a pair of boots that she loved and I said I would buy them for her as her Christmas gift. Unfortunately, Megan wasn't able to wear the boots after purchasing, because I insisted on wrapping the boots and giving them to her on Christmas. Megan reluctantly agreed.

Megan and I also went ring shopping for the first time, and she even found a ring she liked. I managed to secretly go back to the jewelry store, get the ring she wanted, and find a diamond for it; they were able to get it set and ready in a few days. I also managed to see the FOB before he leaves town to ask for his blessing. I headed to Austin to my parents house to celebrate Christmas, and the plan was for Megan to come to Austin after Christmas to see me and my Family.

The Friday after Christmas, December 27, Megan drove up to Austin to meet us to celebrate Christmas and exchange gifts. After all the presents were open, Megan asked where her boots were. As Megan opened and held up the boots she was so excited about, she noticed a ribbon coming out of the boots. Attached was the ring she had picked out less than a week before! During her initial shock, I got down on one knee and popped the question. Of course, she said YES!

Congrats to Megan and Matt!

Christ Episcopal Church Spring Wedding /// Cannot Live Without You /// Hillary + Tom, the full film

Another unforgettable love story courtesy of Hillary and Tom. From their coordinating Seattle Seahawks socks to their exchange of love notes; written with purposeful misspellings and quirky nicknames, you'll see how truly genuine and hilarious this beautiful couple is and by the end, you'll wish you were friends with them. At the very least, you'll be so moved by the way their friends adore them, that you'll be inspired to become the same kind of loyal, joyful friend to those in your own community. That's one of the greatest things about love--by witnessing it in others, we become inspired to be better people to the ones that we hold dear.

Enjoy!

Texas Argyle House Garden Wedding Maggie Gillespie Planner 06 The day began for the ladies at the Argyle House. As their hair and makeup were being expertly styled, the wedding dress hung near a window with the light streaming through the sheer outer layers of the skirt. As everyone admired the dress, Hillary confessed that she tried on nearly 70 dresses before firmly choosing this particular gown from Julian Gold. With sweet tears in her eyes, Hillary's mother showed our cameras a lovely family bridal heirloom. It was hidden on Hillary's new gown in the layers of the skirt---pieces of lace from her own wedding gown from years ago. Texas Argyle House Garden Wedding Maggie Gillespie Planner 07 It's hard to say which moment from this film is our favorite since we have quite a few, but one moment our entire team especially loved was the "first look" between Hillary and Tom. As they saw each other for the first time in their wedding attire, it was as if they were truly seeing each other for the first time. They were both overcome with emotion and burst into tears and laughter. It's these true, emotional moments that we love to capture on film. Couples can often spend many months planning their weddings, only to have the day fly by in an instant. We love that we get to preserve the beauty of the details and the beauty of these emotions in a way that allows our clients to re-experience each heartfelt moment for years to come. On some days we compare it to time-travel. Other days, we compare it to magic. Everyday, we are always thankful to help preserve these memories! christ episcopal church 03christ episcopal church 06christ episcopal church 07 christ episcopal church 01 christ episcopal church 02 christ episcopal church 04 christ episcopal church 05 christ episcopal church 08The ceremony was held at Christ Episcopal Church and their officiant remarked that in dating, people often are putting on airs, but Hillary and Tom met when they were "sweaty, dirty, and completely themselves." They met at a Crossfit gym!

Hillary and Tom,

We join your family and friends in congratulating you, and we thank you for allowing us to capture so many fun and sweet details about your love.  May you always continue to be able to be "completely yourselves" in each other's company!

Best Wishes,

the Mason Jar Team

The Houstonian Hotel /// #MiAmorMiVida /// Christina + Sudan, the Locket

Mi Amor, Mi Vida

Christina and Sudan have the kind of relationship that values both adventures and everyday routines -- they're happy whether they are skiing together in the mountains or lounging around watching Netflix. Christina is kind, faithful, and introspective, while Sudan is outgoing, joy-filled, and optimistic. When we asked what they were most looking forward to on their wedding day, they told us, "celebrating with our friends and family." And celebrate they did.

The dance floor at the reception was never empty! Although the energy at this party was absolutely incredible, we have to admit--the moments that touched our hearts the most occurred mostly behind the scenes, with only a few people there to experience them: the quiet moments. One such moment happened when the bridal party had gathered outside the sanctuary, just after the ceremony, cheering and hugging one another. It was then that Sudan proclaimed to everyone how "Tina looked like Cinderella!" Doesn't every girl want to look like a princess on their wedding day?

Their ceremony was held at the Cathedral of St. John in Houston. Christina told us that one of her favorite things about the church is the bell tower and the beautiful music that would be playing from the tower during the day. As candles flickered in the sanctuary before the ceremony, we couldn't help feeling overwhelmed by the beauty of the angular architecture and the wooden beams that glowed gold, drawing our eyes toward heaven during the ceremony.

The reception took place at the Houstonian Hotel in downtown Houston. As the party gained momentum, guests were given all kinds of hilarious props and hats to celebrate "La Hora Loca" on the dance floor. Between the conga line and the limbo, it was a fun, wonderful time, and no one danced more than the bride and groom. Their joy was so expressive and apparent, manifesting in every smile and in every dance step.

The Proposal:

Christina shared the sweet story of the proposal with us: "Saturday morning, August 23rd. Sudan and I had his kids (Gabriela and Daniel) that weekend. The kids and Sudan woke up early, as did I. Sudan and I planned to go on a walk, and the kids were allegedly going to ride their bikes. They started off ahead of us. Sudan and I walked hand in hand to the lake in his neighborhood. As we crossed a bridge, he pointed out the turtles in the water below on either side of the bridge. I went side to side, peering over the edge at the turtles. He said, "Mi amor." I turned around. He said, "I don't want it to be hypothetical anymore. Would you marry me?" I screamed "Mi viiiiiiida!!!!" The kids came running out from behind the bushes at the end of the bridge, where they had been hiding and filming the whole thing. A very sweet moment."

Villa Del Lago /// #sewellmates /// Josie + Carl, the sneak peek

austin wedding by jackson durham events at brazos hall 02

All of Your Tomorrows

Brazos Hall was filled with laughter and sweet tears the night of Josie + Carl's rehearsal dinner. The expansive renovated warehouse was completely transformed by the Jackson Durham team into an elegant, intimate garden oasis. Greenery was draped from the ceiling in such a magical way that it looked as though it had grown there naturally. The tables were covered with royal blue linens and accented with vivacious orange and red floral. Surrounded by candlelight, guests were treated to engaging stories about Carl and Josie -- including the story of how they met, which, Carl admitted, is his favorite story of all.

As the sounds of a nearby waterfall drifted through the air, Jackson Durham prepared a ceremony aisle for Josie that was lined with majestic sprays of roses, drawing everyone's eyes up toward the peaceful blue sky. Carl gathered with his groomsmen for photos and they all sported crushed velvet loafers that would soon be used for some serious dancing in the Driskill's ballroom later that night. As Carl greeted his family and guests, it became very clear the kind of sweet support that their loved ones have for Josie and Carl. austin wedding by jackson durham events at villa del lago 05 austin wedding by jackson durham events at villa del lago 06 austin wedding by jackson durham events at villa del lago 09 austin wedding by jackson durham events at villa del lago 10 austin wedding by jackson durham events driskill hotel 01 austin wedding by jackson durham events driskill hotel 03Josie + Carl, Thank you for inviting us to film your wedding video.  We have loved editing the hilarious and sweet toasts from your rehearsal dinner, and we can’t wait to show you the full film once it is finished!
